DIY 4 Head Doser 0-10V Port

Nice job! After reading about the Oono earlier today I was looking at pumps to do the same project. It'll save my drive ports for other uses.
Which pump did you get and where did you source it from?
Regards,
Dan

I used these pumps below. You can choose your speed based on your particular needs, plus they’re small and replacement parts are readily available. Your other option is to use Kamoer pumps, which are substantially cheaper, but limited in the flow speeds.

Thank you very much. I also have 3D printers and I can make my own enclosure so It'll be a fun project!

Awesome, definitely let us know how it turns out, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!

what hosing size and gear ratio did you get? trying to find a reliable source for a budget friendly ~1ml/min pump and this might be in.

You can select the different tubing sizes and gear ratios right on the website and it will tell you what the flow rate will be. The version I got was this, and it should have yielded a flow rate of 9.6 ml/minute. When calibrating the pumps ranged from 7.6-9.8, I think mostly due to the length of tubing:

PM100 12 Volt Peristaltic Pump Tygon Food & Beverage Tube
  • Tubing ID:
    1/8 inch
  • Gear Ratio:
    172:1

I used the model with the silicone tubing, 3/32 tubing with 172:1 gear ratio. I'll be dosing micro and macro fresh water fertilizer, and the gearing should provide a reasonable drip. Wild guess, but we'll see.

I got my pumps today and the Oono arrives tomorrow. Did you set up the pumps on your Hydros as a Simple Doser with the 0-10X output?

Yes, that’s exactly what I did. Here’s what it looks like. 4 simple dosers and 1 schedule for all 4AC71BD2C-DBA0-498A-BE11-97B7329DD740.png154BFD34-371D-43DE-975D-A65A900BA745.pngF5029F83-C8C7-41F1-84F4-83843F6D16F0.png

Hello,

Are you using the 0-10V output to directly drive the 12V motors? I don't see any relay controls between your input and the load. The 0-10V outputs should not be used to directly drive loads, they are very low current outputs and not designed to drive motors.

I have an Oono and a 12V power supply that powers the motors. I built a cable with a 4 pin aircraft connector that runs from the Oono to the two doser just to look like the Hydros.

Ah ok! Perfect, was just making sure!

Agree! I got the printer to make drone parts and found out I liked 3D printing more than drones. I've now got several small projects thought out for a new IM 40 gal I'm setting up.

I wanted to say thank you for posting up your project, it motivated me to give it a try. I kept it a little more basic and didn't add the switches, cost was about $110 bucks and it was a fun Friday evening project! Any feedback would be great. IMG_8728.jpgIMG_8731.jpgIMG_8732.jpg n
