No, carbon doser is equivalent to a needle valve. This just protection against the ph going too low in the reactor. I personally am fine with the Tunze but I’m old school so I am familiar with the old school style regulators.
I have been using it for nearly 2 weeks now. It has been performing flawlessly. Right now, I have the CO2 set up from 6.5-6.7. I am considering lowering that to 6.4 to 6.6. I am using the CO2 probe also from the Hydros. Because I use the Tunze regulator, it doesn’t come with a CO2 solenoid...
I thought it didn't work but when I selected united states and then a city in my time zone, it worked. I recall it being really odd the way it worked and I think it could be better but it did worked. I didnt think it was a big deal since you would only have to do it upon set-up.
