Longer AC Power Cord for XP8

The supplied AC power cord for the XP8 just isn't long enough for me. I need another 4 ft. Instead of adding an extension cord, I was thinking of replacing the entire AC power cord. This way, I would not have a "splice" or need a cover where the extension cord connects. Has anyone done this yet?
