It seems that today, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, AWS cloud is having issues, and it is preventing HYDROS devices from connecting to the cloud.
  • It will prevent you from connecting to your HYDROS devices via the app
  • It will NOT affect the regular operation of the HYDROS and the WiFi strips. They talk to each other via WiFi regardless of the internet connection
  • All HYDROS devices have the configuration stored in local memory, so they will continue to run your tank as they would do without internet issues
The HYDROS devices will continue to breathe yellow for a few minutes. After that, they will switch back and forth between yellow and red. This is normal as the device is actively restarting the WiFi to connect to the cloud. The process does not affect normal operations.

We will keep you updated as soon as Amazon fixes the problem.

UPDATE: 12/15/2021 @ 10:14 CST

It seems that AWS is PARTIALLY back up. The devices can connect back to the cloud, but the App still has issues connecting and pulling the configuration.

Amazon is working to fix the problem, and hopefully, the service will be back entirely soon.

UPDATE: 12/15/2021 @ 10:34 CST

Some folks can already get back into their systems using the App. If you are not one of them, please hang tight. Amazon probably pushed a fix, but it takes a little time to spread out throughout all their servers. Depending on your location and the server you are connecting to, it might not have received the update yet.

UPDATE: 12/15/2021 @ 10:54 CST

It seems that most users can connect to their HYDROS devices using the App. If you are still having problems, try rebooting your HYDROS devices. That will trigger them to reconnect to the cloud, which should fix the problem.
