Setting up a collective question

I currently have an XP8 only on my system. I have ordered an X4 (Controller Only), and the following: PH Probe, 1ft Data+Power Cable, and 2 Terminators. Will I also need a power adapter for the X4? My assumption was that the XP8 would supply power across the bus, but reading some of the guides, I am not sure. Everything is coming tomorrow, and I need to know if I need to order a power adapter, and if so, is this the correct one?

You're correct . You do not need the X4 power supply if your connecting it to the XP8 Via the command bus. If you were to ever want to run the X4 independently from the Xp8 then you would need the power supply, or if you were to move the X4 more than 15' away from the Xp8. If you moved it that far away you would need a DATA only command bus cable and then you also would have to use the X4 power supply. For what you're trying to do you are good without the X4 power supply.
