Hi all, I'm guessing this is something simple I'm missing. I have the battery plugged into the power input in the WaveEngine LE, and a power/data cable connecting the WaveEngine to the X3 (it's in a collective). I have a low power mode schedule just running a gyre 2k when in low power. When I unplug the gyre's power supply from the battery, everything works well and only the gyre runs. However, when I also unplug the battery charger, nothing runs. Could there be a problem with the battery? I installed the battery fuse and it's been charging for several days.

Thanks,
Austin

You are not using a power pack that connects directly to the command buss are you?

I have the Icecap battery pump output connected to the 4-prong power port input of the WaveEngine. Should I instead get a cord that I can connect the battery to the 5-prong command bus inputs of either the X3 or the WaveEngine?

No, I was just making sure you were not using another source of power on the buss other than the Wave Engine. You cannot use the power supplies that connect directly to the command buss if you have a wave engine or XP8 connected to the buss.

Has anyone had success using an Icecap v3 battery with a Wave Engine LE and a hydros Control unit? I'm loving my X3 and WE LE, just would love to incorporate the battery to run the gyre during an outage.

I presently have a setup utilizing redundant Icecap V3 batteries powering my collective and a couple pumps during power outage. Are you still having difficulty cabling it up or now configuring the low power mode? Let me know where you're stuck and I can likely help out.

The Icecap battery MUST be cabled to the Wave Engine with HYDROS IceCap Battery Backup Cable Kit. And you MUST use the Wave Engine power supply. DO NOT use the X3 power supply which plugs into the command bus.

I borrowed this from another member and it depicts the power to battery to Wave Engine cabling. This particular example depicts two batteries connected in parallel using the included y-cables. If you only have one battery, follow the example depicted on the right (2) and ignore the y-cables.

Another issue I frequently see is people forget or don't realize there is a fuse. Just a reminder to look for, check fuse status and install otherwise battery will not charge nor will it provide power.

Thank you all, really appreciate the help. I had the fuse installed but I just turned the fuse counter clockwise and now it all works like a charm. Thank you again, I'm loving my Hydros setup!
