Hi all! New to the hobby and enthusiastic to get my setup going :)

I have a 20 gal AIO and a mighty jet pump, osmolator 3, IM heater helios 50W, IM protein skimmer and a XR15.

Do you have any guidelines on how to best use the configuration parameters on the XP8 for voltage etc. so that I ensure the systems operate within desired spec (ie normal)?

For additional context, I have an XP4 and plan to add a minnow and a maven (when available!)

Thanks in advance for the assist.

The XP8 only has 8 AC outlet for ports and the voltage on them is determined by the AC input voltage to the XP8 and cannot be changed. Whatever you are getting is what it will be. Most likely it will be between 110-125 volts but will vary depending on when you are on the power line and the load on that line.

Ah thanks that makes sense. I realized I should've asked for wattage I believe. The goal is to set a parameter that will prevent erratic behavior and set a governor style control to ensure electronics don't go on the fritz.

You can set a wattage range and if it gets out of that range when the output is on it will send an alert but nothing else will happen so it would be up to you to check on things. I have a range set on my heaters. They are 50 watt heaters and I set the range from 45-55 watts. So far that has worked for those. On one pump I have the pump uses more than the rated wattage by quite a bit but it is a skimmer and they do modify the pumps on those so that might be the reason. Best bet is to check what it uses when on and running normally and then set it. If the device you are powering turns on and foo itself you will not be able to usr the wattage as it will change quite a bit. On my heaters the Hydros controls them normally but if the temp goes too high they will cut of since I have their thermostat 3 degrees higher than the Hydros temp. So if they cutoff I will get an alert for low wattage on the output.

Hi Danny, did you mean if my country is working 220v, the 8 outputs of of XP8 will be 220v as well?

I’m living in Hong Kong and would like to use hydros control system.

I am not completely sure on that one if it will work on 220v. Have you checked with CoralVue to see if it will work with 220v. What I was referring to is the voltage varies depending on the load on the system. My 220 is usually around 239v. and the 110 is usually around 220v but can be lower if there is a lot of demand for power such as hot days.

Yes It does but we do not sell outside of the USA. Also there is no warranty if you use any of the Hydros Controllers outside of the USA.
