Last night, I came home to an empty Hydros automatic fish feeder, still spinning, and a tank full of fish food flakes.

Any idea what might have caused this? Has this happened to anyone else here?

I ultimately had to unplug the fish feeder for it to stop spinning. I plugged it back in and it seemed to reset itself.

Vacuumed up as many flakes as I could and did a major water change, but super glad I was home to take action before ammonia spiked too hard from all of that excess food.

Not sure if I can trust the automatic feeder now - though it has been (afaik) reliable for the last 1.5 years.

I have had mine for years now and it has never done that before. Have you submitted a support ticket with CoralVue for the issue.

Mine was doing the same thing. I think it was a lose wire on the micro usb in the feeder. I soldered it direct to the cord. It hasn’t acted up yet after a couple of months.

Thanks, dufleparf - that’s really helpful. Support said 🤷‍♂️. I’ll take a look at the board and see if that might be an issue.
