Looking for some advice on how to hook up my diy led light to the control. Right now it is controlled by the bluefish aquarium led controller. 6 channels are run by the controller through 3, 3.5mm headphone jack cables. 2 channels per cable. Is this something that can be easily switched to the 0-10v output on the controller?

I believe you could use the 0-10v cable to control 4 of the 6 channels. The hydros only uses 1 channel per cable to my knowledge, 4 outputs total.

Yes, or you can use Y-cables and control multiple channels with a single cable.

Great, thank you!
What mode are you using the Bluefish in? That controller has 4 output settings: 0-10V, 0-5V, 5V PWM, and 10V PWM. If your lights require PWM control you will have to use a 0-10V to PWM converter board. Otherwise yes you can just split the outputs of this cable HYDROS WaveEngine 0-10V Quad Cable to your lights. Then you can use a TRS splitter like this to control multiple lights from a single 0-10V channel: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-6i...ords=TRS+splitter+1/8"&qid=1607356756&sr=8-53

I believe this is the pinout of the Hydros 0-10V 3.5mm breakout cable but @Carlos will need to confirm:

i don’t mean to hijack this thread but @JeffB418 or @Carlos could you help me determine why i cant actually get a variable voltage on any 0-10v cable?

the only type that i see that even allows for variable voltage is ‘variable light’ so i set all 4 0-10 outputs to variable light and set them all to min and max of 50%, expecting to read a voltage of 5 volts on my multimeter.

they all show 50% on the hydros app but all of them read as 10v when i treat sleeve as ground and tip as + and ignore ring....

if i change the percentage on the app the app will show a new % but i still read 10v....

Hey,

Sorry for the inconvenience. We are aware of this bug and it will be fixed on the next version of the firmware. It is on the list!
