I received my Hydros Controller 4 today and began the set up process. Things went well to start, anything that directly plugged in was easy to set up but when I tried to connect to the power strip and single plug I ran in to some difficulty. Was finally able to get these to appear in the app then while setting up my skimmer on the first outlet the Controller lost connection with the app and began the below process:

1. White lights from top left - counter clockwise
2. Red lights from top right - clockwise
3. Green lights from top right - clockwise
4. Blue lights from top right - clockwise
5. White lights from top right - clockwise
6. Beeps

Repeats and does not change

I have left it unplugged for over an hour, powered up and it does the above and will not connect to the Hydros app. I deleted the unit from the app in an attempt to restart the process to no avail.

I have submitted a ticket at CoralVue.

Try the reset thing with a small magnet on the first O in control. Circular motion until colors change. I had to do that with mine when I tried to connect a single wifi outlet and it locked up like that.

The other thing to try is go into device properties and then review archived versions. Load one from before the problem started.

Thank you for all the help, Factory Reset worked. I probably did not hold the magnet long enough yesterday, it took nearly 2 minutes before the light cycle of death stopped. There were no backups/archived since it was my initial setup.

I do have one more question - How are people finding the accuracy of the Temp Sensor? It reads 3 degrees cooler than my RK Lite (if this is true my tank has been on the cold side) and slightly higher than manual thermometer.

I calibrate all my temperature monitors to my Hanna temp device. The hydros temp probes have been right on with the Hanna.

I would not worry much about 3 degrees unless you are using celsius scale. Most of the temp sensors you can get are only accurate to +-3 degrees unless you get one that is more accurate. Check before you buy if you get one as a standard. The Hydros does have an offset you can adjust if you want. My tank runs between 76 and 78 degrees. Most of the things we keep have a wide range in temp. The key is only gradual changes. If your tank is used to the temp range it has been getting just adjust the Hydros to that.

There is an offset option in the temperature sensor that I will allow you to match the temperature reading on the Hydros to the one on your other device.

I use two of the magnetic temp sensors in my tank and I find them to be spot on compared to my Hanna pen.

I have found mine to be the exact same as my Apex and the exact same as my Baylite temp controllers out of the box no calibration.
It is two degrees less than my Finnex temp controllers. The Finnex controllers always need to be set two degrees higher. The Finnex has always been that way with every other thermometer I own.

You can always get a Nist certified thermometer to test. I always wanted one but they are a little on the pricy side.
