I need help with my decision. I am either waiting for Hydros( Preferably) to come up with a dosing pump solution , However I'm not waiting for much longer. OR get the Ecotech VXF-1 doser once it is back in stock somewhere on planet earth. Does anyone have any info on either? lol Currently running an el cheapo jabao.

The org version of the ecotech doser was horrible. I’ve heard they are redesigning it, hence why no stock. But I had 2 org units and they had non stop issues. Hopefully round 2 is better.

This is a great question with incredible timing!!!

We are actually in the final stages of testing new software on the HYDROS app that will allow customers to run dosing pumps with all the bells and whistles that people come to expect from a dosing pump software... plus a few more features! ;)

Using pumps like the BRS's pumps or the ETM pumps (individually powered and running on "Constant" mode) will be easy to use and program with the HYDROS app!

We are slating the features to be released in mid-February.

We ask you to hang in there for just a little longer and we think you will be very pleased!

I currently use dosing pumps with my Hydros on the drive ports. I use them for ATO and auto water change. I use the generic output type to schedule the timing for the auto water change and the ATO output type on the one for ATO. The ones I use or in the lower right corner in this photo. They Itllab dosing pumps and can be run on 12v or you can use the power pack that comes with the doser.

Does this update include integration with Kamoer dosers? I have an F4 pro

Is it ok to plug Kamoer X1/X1 PRO dosing pumps into the Hydros drive port (which would be almost permanently on)? If so, how many can be safely daisy chained if using the other drive port for the Hydros ATO?

This would remove the need to use the Kamoer power adapter and free up one of the Wifi sockets. It would also mean that if there was a power failure to the Hydros then the dosing pumps would also turn off (which may or may not be a good thing depending on the scenario). Additionally, it also means that the Hydros would continue to have control over them if the WiFi strip became disconnected.

If there is a power interruption then I believe that the Bluetooth X1 restarts its dosing from the start of the cycle, which is one of the most frequently commented on items that I have picked up from the reviews. If its master on/off power was controllable (e.g. on a drive port or WiFi strip socket) then I assume you can remotely turn it off and on again at the time you want the cycle to restart, so that it temporarily re-syncs (roughly) until you can get back to reconnect the doser to the Bluetooth app?

Drive ports can only handle 12V and low amps. It all depends on how much power they draw.

Well seeing as Coralvue distribute the Kamoer dosers, I was hoping you would be able to tell me that.
Back of my kamoer X1 says 5w. Some of that probably powering the bluetooth chip. If you daisy chained them, might be too much current.

Is it a 12v pump? If so that would be 417 ma. If it is not 12v then it won't work anyway.

Thanks very much. From my maths that equates to 0.42A, which is well within the advertised 1A limit of the drive port. From the pictures I have seen on the internet it looks like the Kamoer X1 power supply is only rated at 1A anyway, and depending which part of the Coralvue website you look at (or what YouTube videos you watch) daisy-chaining 3-5 X1s should be possible with the standard 1A power supply.

The Hydros ATO pump appears to be rated at 4.5W (0.38A) so, theoretically, you could run that and a Kamoer X1 simultaneously and still be well within the combined 1.5A limit of the drive ports. However, theoretically, you should be able to use the Tunze ATO pump, which is rated at 0.9A, but it has been mentioned on here that in practice the current draw of that pump is too much for the drive ports.

I'm 99% sure that running the Hydros ATO and Kamoer X1 from the 2 drive ports would be fine, it would just be nice to have manufacturer confirmation and their recommendation of how many could be daisy-chained. I would have thought that Coralvue might be more proactive at offering this as a Hydros option (with a cable) to encourage people to buy 'their' Kamoer dosers, rather than the BRS or Versa options that they appear to be preparing the new software for, particularly considering that the Kamoer pumps appear to be a better price fit into the Hydros concept than the Versa pumps.

I currently run three Intllab dosing pumps on my Control 4 with the two drive ports. They are only around $26 each from Amazon.

I do see your point about not wanting to put it on the wifi outlet in case there’s a connection issue but I’d rather ‘waste’ a wifi outlet than a drive port personally, but everyone is different in what they have/need for their setup.

I plan to put mine on on a battery backup type system to avoid the power reset altogether.

Still no official response from Coralvue to my question about the Kamoer dosers. I understand that they're probably really busy but, after all, it was them that directed me to this forum for support so, in my opinion, they should be a bit more proactive with providing that support.

I'm pretty disappointed with my interactions with them so far. I think I'm going to give up on Hydros before I've even started :(

What question are you referring to?
