I'm out of town and getting a broken collective notification. My collective has a wave engine and a X4 controller. The wave engine is not checking in via WiFi. I'm unable to upload changes and I can't find a way to reboot the devices remotely. Does that exist?

I can see that the controller is flashing red through my web cam which is also picking up the audible alert which I'm sure my neighbor is not loving.

I just took a quick look at your system. It is not currently a broken collective, it is a Collective Mismatch which happens if one device has a different version of the config than another. This probably means that a config change was made at some point and one device didn't get it. The simplest way to fix it is to change something (anything), change it back the way it was and then upload the config again. It should be showing yellow lights, not red ones. Maybe you already fixed it?

I had a friend stop by and cycle the power which cleared the broken collective alert. I've been trying to upload various option changes to clear the mismatch, but no luck so far.

I appreciate you taking a look. Had a friend cycle the power which cleared the problem but I can't get any changes to the collective to upload to clear the mismatch. Will try again later but I can live with that until I get home on Friday if needed.

I recommend putting units on smart plugs so you can turn the unit off and back on remotely.
I actually learned this trick because when I had my Apex it always came up faster than my wireless in a power outage. If it did not get WiFi it would just sit there so I would have to reboot it.

It looks like your X4 is refusing to accept config changes. This is a known (but rare) bug in the current firmware and the X4 will need to be rebooted. This problem has already been fixed for the next release. You can probably fix it remotely by using the reboot button on the Device Properties screen.

Thanks. I'm not seeing a reboot button. When I select a device from the list in the collective and click to open it I have an option to remove the device or rename it.

I also wonder if the issue might be resulting from me attempting to rename the device after adding it to the collective. This was several days ago. The change did not appear to take and I did not see any ill effects from the attempt.

Click on the 3 dots upper right and under device properties there is the reboot button.

Thanks! I found the reset options. I reset both devices and upload continues to fail so I rebooted the entire collective and I'm still not able to upload changes. I think I'll defer any other attempts until I get home tomorrow since all the inputs and outputs seem to be operating properly.

When I get home I'll try clearing the local cache.

After you get home try setting it back to an archived version of the programming. I would not do anything while away if it is still working.

Interesting correlation to my ongoing mismatch issue. The graphs seem to have stopped updating around the same time. This screen capture is from the morning of 9/3. The values in the tile do change so the X4 is processing the sensor input.1630668268681.png

The saga continues.

I attempted to delete the X4 and then the collective which appears to work until I re-add the X4 and what appears to be a fragment of the collective returns (the thing with an unknown type).

No number of factory resets seems to fix this. Additionally I get alerts for devices that are not listed in the X4 config file but are still listed in the config file for the collective fragment. Also, when I click to open the Borg thing it lists no Hydros Devices and I can't add any inputs or outputs, but then in the device properties it shows this which leads me to think that the cloud still thinks the X4 is part of a collective.

Is there a way to simply blow away all the configuration in the cloud?

At this point my Hydros system is inoperative and I'm setting up the GHL again.

Did you try and load a archived version of you settings with the X4 in the collective?

Make sure it is a version dated before you were having an issue.
I did try but I made to many upload attempts while trying to get a response and the oldest archive I could access was only a day old and well after the problem occurred. Lesson learned.

I had a X4 and a WE but I was able to get the WE out of the collection and it is working fine. Just the X4 is unresponsive and I think that is because the cloud still thinks its in a collective so the UI will not allow me to add anything to it directly. Just a guess though.

At this point the WE is running independently on my coral QT tank controlling a single Octo Pulse 2 and the controller is doing nothing.

I really want this to work because I have a lot of plans to expand the collective. I have a shared RODI reservoir that will supply ATO to my main tank and my coral QT. Might also expand that to supply my fish QT tanks but they are both closed top and don't see much evaporation. I'd like like to automate the ATO top off for both tanks as well as refill of the reservoir.

Mostly this is experiment to see if I want Hydros to be my controller or not. I really like the WE and I'd want to like the controllers too. Just off to a rough start.

I am not sure how you would delete a collective since I have never had to do it. You may want to submit a support ticket for that. Someone that knows may post in the meantime.

With all that is still going on with hurricane clean up I was hoping to not put something else on CoralVue's plate, but I decided to send in support email this morning since I seem to be at a roadblock. I'm hoping they can simply delete all the items in my account and I'll start over.
