As long as the app shows the WiFi strip status as "Responding," it is ok. Once you define output and turn it ON, the power light will also turn on.

We do something like that with temperature probes regarding the Heater and Chiller outputs. You can define two sensors, and the system will use either one to control the heater or chiller elements. I can add this to the wishlist, and if enough people request it, we could add something similar...
