Did some testing this week with the new high head pressure ATO pump from Tunze. And from initial testing, it appears that it works with the Hydros Drive Port. You need to adapt it for a drive port but thats not too hard.
This is the new pump...
This goes over how to control a nicrew LED (hyperreef 50/100/150 only) with Hydros 0-10V output from a X4 or a WELE/WE (with a collective).
What you need:
- 2x of these TRS female to pigtail wires Amazon.com
- 1x of these TRRS male to terminal block Amazon.com
- 1x Hydros quad 0-10V cable
You...
Basically operates like a standard optical sensor, in the fact that it can read WET or DRY. It reads wet when the bottom 2 sensors are covered. It reads dry if all 3 sensors are dry. The input will also read OVERFLOW if all 3 sensors are wet. Overflow is only used to generate an alert for the...
Typically you can not directly adapt optical sensors to the sense port on hydros. Typically off the shelf optical sensors require an external resistor bias network to work correctly.
Yes as Thomas said, you can run it off a drive port but not at full speed. Use something similar to what I used here for a speed control: Variable Speed Hydros Doser
I just tried myself and didnt have an issue, but that doesnt mean you might not have a specific case thats causing an issue. In that case, I would suggest reaching out to support@coralvue.com and let them look into your specific use case.
Pulling this off onto its own thread since its an easier way to interface eTape sensors with Hydros.
I have a full tutorial here: Hydros LLS Sensor Tutorial
But in short, you CAN use Neptunes LLS sensors with Hydro's 0-10V input channels/port. They are super handy for monitoring levels or...
I found another sensor that works very well with Hydros that provides both humidity and temp. In addition this new sensor is pretty rugged and can be used for high humidity situations like reptile enclosures where other solutions previously would've suffered in these environments. This sensor...
