I have an old Finnex Heater controller that not longer has the Temperature sensor attached. The Temp sensor has two wires that were attached that seem to be putting on 11.3 dcv. I also have a couple of the Hydros stick temp sensors laying around. I know they are four pins but would there be a way to use the Hydros probe and two of the pins to connect to the Finnex?

Thanks,

Are you trying to power the heater with HYDROS? Unfortunately, that would not work as the controller cannot provide much power.

Nope. I curious if I can use the temperature sensor by wiring it to the finnex controller. Would not be part of the hydros system at all.

The Hydros temp sensor has a digital output back to the controller. It won't work on the finnex controller.

Unfortunatly there are many different types of temp sensors and they even vary within types. So without knowing which type you need and which one in that type it is going to be hard to get one for it. Since it is only two wires that probably narrows it to a thermistor of some type, but it could be a RTD or thermocouple also. There are dozens of different thermistors. They are usually rated by their resistance at 77 degrees. I have seen diodes used as temp sensors in some cases.
