Adding skimmer

I am planning on adding either the Regal 200SSS or the Regal 200 INT. Both have the VarioS-4. I should be able to connect this to the wave engine and control the skimmer without needing the Regal controller and power block?

Yes. The varios 2 and 4 are listed as direct drive compatible here HYDROS WaveEngine - Pump Compatiblity Chart

just need a cable adapter for the pump which is cheap.

VarioS-4 is compatible with the WaveEngine but not the VarioS-4S. They are two different pumps.

Oh my bad, I thought they used the same controller. My mistake.

You still can use the 0-10V output from the wave engine to control the VarioS-4S tho

I didn't know that either. I thought the only difference was the needle wheel vs impeller.

Nope Carlos filled me in. Pumps are optimized for each use based on drag. Go figure.

Has there been a software update to allow for the varios s4s to work with the direct drive at this time? If not are there plans for that to happen? Thanks

I don’t believe the hardware can support it.
