Was looking to buy the Avast auto feeder and looking in the menu for the control 2 "feed" selection it just has when to start and how long between and how many to do a day then how many rotations.
I dont know what how many rotations means besides the obvious.
What exactly does that mean?
With the Avast it is set by time example 30 seconds on/off or whatever time you want.
So how long is a rotation in the hydros ?
Looking to buy an auto feeder and want to hook it up to the hydros do feel I should have to buy a separate timer.
Any help would be great Thanks!

You can alway setup a timer using the generic output type. Like the setup in the screenshots below. This is for running a dosing pump but it should work for any device. If you don't have an input just set the input count to 0 and it will work as a timer output. In this case I don't want it to dose if there is an alarm present.

Yes you are correct. I have not yet hooked up the dosing pump on that output. I will be switching to a different pump which has a lot lower flow rate so I will have to increase the run time accordingly, but those are the current settings I have for the DP1 on my Archon. I have been slowly switching things over Form the Archon to the Hydros. I do have my ATO and AWC pumps and the solenoids for my RODI switched over. The ATO and AWC pumps are the same type pump I will use for the dosing with a smaller tubing installed to get a lower flow rate.

Since the Avast has 2 plugs one for the tumbler and 1 for the pump/mixer I can do both like this but have the pump start 30 second sooner and end 30 later
Hmm cool thanks.

Hello So I bought a cheap auto feeder it is USB and was trying to figure out how to use the auto feed on the control to make it work.
I have it plugged in to the usb on the wifi strip.
If I use constant it powers up but if I use auto feed it does not power up.
What am I missing

I was talking about the feeder

Maybe they can do a video on setting up auto-feeders.
I would love to see it.
Which are these compatible with?
@Carlos

Well I figured it was a USB and just needs to be told what to do. But what do I know lol. It work fine on the constant and is fine just thought I would use the feed channel/selection

The USB on the wifi strips are power only and have no control signals. You can turn on and off the power to the USB ports but that is it.

The Hydros feeder will be wifi control like the power strips and will take one of the 8 wifi devices. It may be powered by USB though. USB power is begining to be a big thing since there are a lot of power strips with USB power ports.

So do you think if I used a plug it would work not a usb?
It is working fine thru its own app. But the more I use the control the more I'm just "making it fit" into an output mostly under constant or generic so at this point its just the wifi strips I'm using. They are not costly but not using the control except for power

All the plug would do is power it on or off. That may not work well depending on the feeder. I have an old Eheim that runs on battery power and an internal programming. It works well for me. The only pumps I slow down for feeding is my Vortech pumps. So I just have feed mode on them times to match the feeder.

Cool ya the one I got is working fine I keep the pumps on and it dumps into a cup I set up then sinks and the powerhead pushes it out into the tank seems to work good looks ugly but I'll work on that. I'll get a pic tonight
