I am starting to regret this hydros system. Since day 1 i have had bad sensors, bad wifi outlets, numerous error messages, and now for the 2nd day in a row i get collective broken. Yesterday i unplugged everything and did a hard reboot and that fixed the issue. Now today it is doing it again. Any suggestions. This is making me very worried as i go out of town alot and cant friend on this so called automatic system. Please help.

Which controller are the red outputs and inputs on? Reset that controller.
I rebooted that controller and that didnt fix it. I had to unplug the power from the collective and that fixed it. I need to figure out why this is happening as i obviously cant unplug the power if im out of town

I had this happen once but it was a command buss cable that I had made. It was a data only cable. It can be a communication issue between the members of the collective. If you don't find a cable issue you did rule out one of your controllers as the issue. If you are removing cables instead of powering down to reboot the it might be one of them or the connectors.

Another thing did you get an alert for any of the controller being offline too long? If so I would look there if not my guess is something with one of the cables or terminators.

I had no messages regarding a controller offline. It literally just prompted me collective broken. If the cable was bad, you would think a reboot wouldnt fix it?

You only have the two controllers then? Do you have one or two terminators?
See picture. I have 1 link cable and 1 bus terminator.

You should have two cables with three devices and no power pack since the wave engine will power the other two controllers.

I have a power cable in the x4 and a cable going to the x2, than a cable going to the WE with a Terminator and a power cable for the wave makers. Should i remove the power cable from the X4?

You cannot use a Power pack type power supply with a Wave Engine or a XP8 without using a data only cable between them. If you are not using a data only cable for one of you cables then remove the power pack. if you notice the one for the wave engine does not hook directly to the command buss. There is an isolation circuit built into the Wave Engine to protect the power pack that connects to it. The XP8 also has the isolation circuit. The power pack that hooks directly to the buss does not have this protection and can cause issues if it is connected.

Ill be honest, i am lost on what you are saying here. I obviously need the power pack for the wave engine. So if i have the we, x2, and x4 how exactly should the collective be wired together and where so i put the terminator.

I currently have it X4 wired to the x2, wired to the we. The we has the terminator.

That is Ok as long as you are not using a power pack with the wave engine hooked up. Below is a photo of one of the power packs that cannot be used with the wave engine hooked in the collective. The wave engine will power the other two controllers without an issue.

That is exactly what i am doing. If i disconnect that from the wave engine, the gyres stop working.

Do not disconnect the one for the wave engine it is not connected directly to the control buss like the one in the photo.

Gotcha. So get rid of the power cable going into the X4. Hopefully that helps the issue. Thank you.

So, it happened again tonight. Roughly the same time as yesterday. I disconnected the power cable from the X4 controller yesterday and left only the wave engine power cord connected.

Which unit is 240ac4d945b8? My guess is that is the one causing the issue or if it is at the end of the collective it could be the cable since it is not showing a firmware version and the other 2 show 197. Also look at time of day and last reboot for it those are way off.

This is the X2 controller and it is in the middle of the collective. Once i power cycle everything it shows the correct version. It now also shows the correct data.
