Question, probably because I'm retired and have nothing else to think about. I have a collective with a Control 4, Control 2 and an XP8. Is there any advantage to which one is designated as the preferred as opposed to the normal? I currently have the C4 as preferred and the C2 and XP8 as normal.

We usually recommend making a unit "Preferred" if:
  • The device is closest to the router
  • The unit has a line of sight to the router. WiFi cannot travel through water, so if you draw an imaginary line between the router and the HYDROS device, there shouldn't be a body of water directly in the path. If there is, then the unit will have intermittent WiFi connectivity, and it would be best to move it to a different location.
This applies to the WiFi strips as well. Please place them in a location where they also have a line-of-sight to the router (not the HYDROS Controller) as the WiFi strips, and the HYDROS controller communicate THROUGH the router and not directly with each other.
