Totally new hydros owner here. I have 4 Tunze pumps I’m trying to connect via the 0-10v output and can only get 2 running. Any ideas why? I have the quad cable and adapters for all four pumps, they are all selected to external controller.

I have two 6105s the min/max power settings in the hydros apps are 20%,100% they won’t turn on with hydros below 20% power. I have the voltage in the app at to 0-10. These two pumps work fine. Today I tried to add two 6095s set up exactly the same way and they do nothing. I do have some schedules set up and checked the settings in the schedules and that seemed fine. Thanks for the response!

Have you tried one of the working pumps connected to the same output where one of the non working pump is connected?

No, I will though. I did however retry one of the other pumps. After creating it and adding it to the current schedule the pump only turns on if I go to the status screen and override the pump to the OFF position. It shuts off and will not work in min, max,or auto.

Tunze pumps do not work in a 0-10V range. They work on a 0-6.5V range, but you can always contact them to confirm based on your model.

Okay I will try that with the two that are not working(6095). Any idea why my 6105s work in the 0-10V range?

Yes I just tried this. It seems output 1 and 2 work fine. 3 and 4 don’t work. I can only get the pumps to turn ON if I go in the app and select the pumps tile and override to OFF then the pump will run. It doesn’t seem to matter which pumps I use.

Have you powered down the controller and powered it back up? Also do you have a volt meter of some kind?

I was just thinking I should try a reboot. Should I do it through the app or at the wall? I do have a voltage meter.

I would do it by powering down in this case. Good on the volt meter you can check the voltage output on the 3.5mm plugs on the quad cable. Just divide the percentage output by 10 to get the voltage at the plug. It won't be exact but should be close to that. An example 100% should be near 10 volts, 50% should be near 5v and 20% should be near 2 volts between the long sleeve and the tip. If it outputs near the expected voltage then the output is ok.

Reboot did nothing. I have a digital multimeter, I have no idea how to use to be honest. I set it to 750 ACv and tested output line 3 and it went from like 6-21 so there is some kind of current going through the line. How important are the voltage settings in the app? Again I tried line 1 and 2 on all of my pumps and they work and all of them on line 3 and 4 and they immediately shut off. The pumps only run if I override them to the OFF position in the tile. I’m totally confused is it the quad cable or a setting?

The 0-10v is a DC voltage. So the meter need to be on DC on a range just above 10v if it is not a auto ranging meter. Try testing voltage at off/min and Max on the output. Place the black lead of the meter on the sleeve and the red lead on the tip. If you go to post #3 on this thread it had a drawing of the plug. Hydros 101: 0-10V Ports In the drawing place the black lead of the meter to the ground and the red lead to the left which is the tip. Once you get each reading post it here, thanks.

I use the 0-10v of my X4 to control lighting so I measured it on my meter. Here is a photo. The output has 39 % for output when the measurement was taken.

Just checked with the meter again. I only checked line 3 due to time, kids etc. it is working properly. 2v in min 10v max when I have it in sine wave it goes up and down. So must be the Tunze controllers?

Don't forget the adapter cables. Have you tried switch the pumps at the quad and adapter cables instead of at the pumps?

Also if the Tunze pumps have a 6.5 volts max you may want to set the max at 65% so the max voltage is 6.5 volts on the Hydros output.

I have tried different cable combinations at the pumps and the quad cable. So are you saying that my pumps will only run at 65% of their maximum flow rate?

No if 6.5v is their maximum control voltage then that would be their 100% but it would be only 65% or 6.5v on the hydros. That may vary from pump to pump. I am not that familiar with Tunze pumps themselves.

Well, that’s a relief! So what now? There is power going through line 3 correctly. It just won’t run any of the pumps. I tried deleting all the pumps and recreating them. I’ve made sure all settings are the same. The only way any of my pumps work is if I go in the app and turn the pump to the off position which is weird. Any pump that has been hooked to this line does not work in the min, auto, or max position.
