Im building a large aquarium , with an Aqualogic EVO HTI3-220 3Kw heater. It needs to be hardwired. While the system has built in temp controls for shutoff.. I would like to know how i could cut the powe to that circuit with Hydros. Is there some sort of hardwire Switch which can be controlled by 1-10v ?

Certainly possible. Don't think you'd be able to use a 0-10v output, put definitely a XP8 outlet to drive a heavy duty relay. I haven't got a tank large enough for this demand but have seen others in the group who do. Check out OFFICIAL CoralVue HYDROS Community Group | Facebook and search for contactor. You'll find a small group of users who have inquired and done something similar and can seek feedback on their threads or reach out to them directly.

Anything that large would require some kind of contactor like used for air conditioner compressors. Those usually have 24v coils so you would have to find a 24v power brick that could power the contactor coil. Then you could power the power beick with a XP8 outlet. You would probably want a electrician to wire up the high voltage part of that though unless you can find something that can handle the current that has a control input of some kind that is already pre made for that.

Thank You!!!

It wont be available for a while, but a Kraken provides 24 V outputs that could run a contactor easily.

The Kraken is slated for 2023. Once we have a better idea of when it will be released, we will let everybody know here and on social media.

After rereading your post I realized that you may not actually be looking for a 24V contactor. If you can accept a 12V contactor then the normal Drive ports on Hydros devices could run the relay. 12V contactors are harder to find but they do exist. Here is one example (among many) of a suitable relay (note, a contactor is the same thing as a relay, though contactor usally applies to heavy duty relays). https://www.newark.com/te-connectivity/t92p11d22-12/relay-dpdt-277vac-28vdc-40a/dp/17M3081?CMP=AFC-OP

Thanks so much for the re-read! I am currently planning quite a large build.. ( 1100 gallons total) Im really liking what I'm learning about Hydros.. BTW.. are there flow sensors available ( AutoAqua)? or coming soon? 2" and 1.5" and probably 1"...

I'm liking the plan. You need to do a build thread so we can follow along.

Can't speak to availability of Hydros branded flow sensors as CoralVue typically doesn't state availability until mere weeks or days before so as to not disappoint people. But they have at least said flow sensors are in the plan. If Hydros branded sensors are available when you're ready, DIY is an easy alternative. There are threads here explaining. I have five myself.
