can anyone share a thread for wiring your own 12v pump and which pin is what ? i have the XD and have XS. planning to setup for ATO. i appreciate it.

I have used 12v dosing pumps before Hydros had the simple doser that runs off a drive port. The pumps I was using use the same cable as the Hydros doser does. My DI reservoir is in the garage over 35ft from the tank and the only thing I have found that will pump up through the attic and down to the tank is a dosing pump in the low amounts needed. At this time I am using a Sole as a dosing pump but did use the simple doser for a few years.

Easiest way is get HYDROS 9ft Drive Accessory Extension Cable and clip the male end off. From there, it's just a + and - connection to the appropriate connector or pump. The Tunzr Turbelle High Jet and Kamoer KCP PRO2 are two pumps I found that work well. The Tunze comes with bare wire connector. You can get the 3.5mm barrel connector pigtails for Kamoer off Amazon. Solder and a little heat shrink or the simple solder seal connectors and a heat gun and you're done.

The drive port pin out can be found on the home page by JeffB418 titled Full DIY Hydros Pinout Cheat Sheet. Now with that said. When I did my ato pump I did not have a pinout. I initially wired it backwards. This didn't hurt anything it just wouldn't pump water. If this happens simply reverse the two wire connections and verify the pump is in fact pumping water correctly. Then finalize your connections. For my connections I soldered and used marine grade shrink wrap. Marine grade shrinkwrap will release a glue and seal the connections from water. I also highly recommend the Tunze high Jet pump as a great ATO pump. I salvaged a micro pump from a display waterfall. When this dies the Tunze will be my goto for sure.

that's not the easiest way, sorry gx12 plugs are roughly $8 for a pack of 5 m/f and a few more for more wire to make a few connectors. but thanks
