Guide for creating a Hydros-Compatible Aquarium Fan
View attachment IMG_8234.jpg

This Hydros-Compatible fan system reduces peak tank temperatures by a several degrees on systems around ~90 gallons. It is designed to work with Hydros Drive/Force ports, and can use off-the-shelf cables perfect for those who cannot solder. The same components can be used to create a cabinet fan system.

You can code the fan as a "Chiller" within Hydros to get best control over aquarium temperature.
The Noctua Fan linked is IP67 waterproof, and has an EXCELLENT 6 year warranty. It is worth the additional cost compared to cheap fans.
The 3D printed enclosure is compatible with rimless tanks up to 1/2" thick.

Materials required:

*This fan linked is the 2000rpm version, which is pretty quiet. Noctua also has a 3000rpm version for heavy duty cooling, and you can use the Noctua Speed Controller for variable control of the 12v fan version.
**To protect fingers, add an optional Fan Guard.

*** Ensure you do NOT mix up the 12v (Drive Port) and 24v (FORCE) fans. Using an incorrect combination will damage the fan.
