So I am new to controllers. The Hydros is my first and it has now been running for around a month. X3 & XP8. I've never had the ability to monitor and control elements of my tank to this degree and quite frankly, I feel spoiled. I am in no way claiming that achieving this level of stability is required...

I have a 200w and 300w heater. What I found is that they quickly heat the tank so within the first few days I set the band pretty tight, 77.7-77.9. It resulted in a jagged up down like you would expect. By having this data available I determined that the tank can just barely hold temp with the 200w heater and by dropping the kick on temp for the 300w down to 7.5 the tank now sits at 77.7 almost all the time, with occasional drops late at night when the house is slightly cooler.

This is not that exciting to probably anyone but myself but that's okay. I am excited to see what type of long term stability I can get with the help of the Hydros system. Next, we need to get that PH resolution turned up!

I am new to controllers as well. I've actually had my Hydros X4 for a few months but I was only using it with the ATO on a 165 frag tank that I was going to be breaking down. I'm setting up a 200 gallon but it's taking longer than expected. The 165 is down now so my X4 has been collecting dust for about a week now. I got the startup kit so have other accessories to try with it but only used the ATO on the frag tank because that's all I needed at the time.

It's exciting to see the results from the research on your heaters/temp and we appreciate you sharing. As I'm new to all of this as well, that's exciting stuff. And, when we're all grown up (ha), we'll be working on more advanced controller functionality and we'll have something else to get excited about. :)

Again - thanks for sharing!

That pH is a great sine wave to have!
