Periodically I have to unplug and reply because I’m offline. Annoying when home; angst when away. Why doesn’t the collective have a built-in program to reboot when offline? If the issue is WiFi connection, then this seems like an easy trigger. If the collective goes offline for some internal glitch reason, maybe fix that. I hate seeing this.

I second this one. It's happened to me once in the past few months where the controller lost access to the cloud, and I guess after not reconnecting within some timeframe it quit trying. The internet and the router were fine. I had to unplug the controller and plug it back in to get it to reconnect. We should be able to configure an option to have it power cycle itself if it doesn't reconnect within some period of time.

I currently have a collective but I noticed the same thing before I set up the collective. I just set up the collective within the last week or two

I have not had any control units stop communicating, but have had some reboots on some of my control units. I am not on the release version of the firmware so I may not have the same issue you are having, but I don't remember having any communication issues when I was on that version. I have told them about the reboots though. Not sure if it is an issue or not, but I let them know just incase. If I had not looked at the device properties screen I would not have even known about the reboots.

I have a single controller. As far as I can tell it has current firmware.

I've experienced this issue with the Control X4 in a collective with the Control XS. The XS did not fail communication but the X4 did.
I rebooted the collective but no change. Power down/Power up of the X4 was the next step and that fixed the problem.

I've also experienced loss of communication with the WiFi Power Strip in the same manner and it required Power down/Power up. But I've never had the single WiFi plug or the Control XS fail, not even once.

@Carlos
In all instances it does seem to be related to WiFi network stability, as each lockup event was approximately the same time there was thunderstorm activity in my area. However, a complete reboot of the WiFi network does not/did not resolve the problem for me. It required power-down of the Hydros devices.

I've since had to rethink my reliance on Hydros and have now placed a Kasa WiFi Powerstrip ahead of Hydros power modules so that I can remotely reset Hydros devices. Kasa has yet to fail a reconnect to WiFi, even under the worst circumstances like multiple power interruptions, lengthy outages etc.

Interesting that your experience is different than mine. My stuff never fails to reconnect. I do use a dedicated 2.4 ghz wifi extender.

I live in Texas and we went a week in February with rolling blackouts. My Hydros went through it without any issues with the exception of a couple of times one wifi strip did not connect. Since then I found out that in that particular spot there is a problem with wifi signal. I was getting occasional communication issue on that strip but once it was moved it has been rock solid. Crazy thing is there are other Hydros devices within 1 foot of that spot without any issues. The blackouts went from 1 hour on to 1 hour off to as long as a little over 4 hours on and 4 hours off for an entire week. So that is a lot of on and off for the week. I had some cameras and other items that did not fare to well including my Archon. The USB memory stick was corrupted during one off and on sequence.
