Having problems setting hydros dosing pump

I could be doing this wrong.. but trying to setup and use hydros dosing pump.. I set it to their 1.1ml and did the manual dosing… followed by the 1minute timer to it came out to 45ml in 1min…… but once I do another manual dose of 45ml I’ll get like 40ml what could be wrong? Need help

What is the default flow rate? It should be set to 40ml/min. This is because the HYDROS will run the pump for precisely one minute when calibrating.

I started at 1.1ml dosing rate and did the manual dose to see if it would come out correct.. it was either over or under… so maybe I did some things wrong….

Are you referring to the Hydros Dosing Pump or the Hydros Simple Doser recipe? Or--as I tend to believe--both? In the recipe, you are telling it the speed at which the attached pump operates. You're not actually setting the speed.

The Hydros Dosing Pump is a fixed speed pump which operates at approximately 43ml/min. If you want to operate this pump at a lesser rate, check out Variable Speed Hydros Doser elsewhere on this forum.

Yes I am referring to the hydros pump and I’m not trying to regulate the speed, just trying to make sure it’s dosing it’s the right amount..I’m about to try 43ml once more time

Ok so here are the results when it’s still reading at 45ml

If you are getting 45ml when you run the pump for 60 seconds, then the rated speed of the pump is 45ml/min and that is what you should enter into the Factory Flow Rate in the pump's settings page.

Ok I think I figured out… I think my problem was I had the hydros doser sitting lower then the fluid it’s coming out correctly when I do a manual do at 43ml…

Ok so here are the results when it’s still reading at 45ml

It is tough to tell in photos from the angle and reflection but looks as though it may be something less than 45. Just a reminder calibration cylinder is read from the bottom. Dispensed fluid will be close to 43 but probable variance from one pump to another. Once you enter calibration value, dosing durations will be adjusted to account for these small pump variances.

I usually use a scale to check flow rate. I also run for more than a minute and divide the results by the minutes that it runs to get an average flow rate. If it is running less than a minute the a 1 minute run for calibration would be more accurate in that case.

Yes I study that it was off a few ml’s..like 5ml so that was more of the concern.. but all in all it was an error to I believe was mine, by having the doser sitting lower then the fluid….
