Help with leak input + return pump

What does the leak input do in regards to the return pump’s “family”?

I’d like the pump to turn off if the leak sensor is wet. I know I can do this if the family is changed to “generic”, but what does the leak input do if the family is “return pump”?

It does exactly as you want it to. Turns the pump off. See Step 2 in the online manual at HYDROS Control - How To Add Return Pump Output. The built-in recipes follow the 80/20, 90/10 or whatever you like principle which meets typical user requirements. Even though you are give a state selection option, it is safe to assume it would behave as you want. This is true of other situations also where you are prompted for an input but not state. Generic and Combimer outputs are there for situations where you may want to do something slightly out of the norm which isn't covered by built-in recipes.

So you’re saying if you use the built-in Return Pump recipe, it’s already programmed to behave correctly in normal situations, like feed mode or alerts.

Even if it doesn’t explicitly ask you to choose a specific “state” (like ON/OFF logic), it’s assumed and handled internally.

You had asked ablut the leak sensor. You're not promlted for WET/DRY state of the leak sensor because it is imllied you want the punp off if there is a leak. Other situations like modes and notifications are user configured. Expand Active in Modes and uncheck any modes where you don't want the pump to run. As for notifications, sending a notification if the leak senslr becomes wet is done below the sensor. And sending a notification if power draw is outside exlected range is done below tbe Output Device selection. IF you select an Output Device which doesn't support piwer monitoring then you won't be given this option.
