IceCap Gyre default direction is reverse?

Just got wave engine le with icecap 4k gyre. Mounted horizontally with logo as well as magnet writing correct way up, pump outputs downward and intakes from the top. That seems more of a reverse direction. Also at 100% this consumes something like 24watts. Checking in pump's settings something along the lines of reverse (don't recall exact wording) makes it run the way I'd expect with intake at the bottom and flow coming out of side across the tank. Also this way it does use full 45watts and flow is way stronger.

Is there a bug that by default output will drive icecap 4k backwards at slower speed and i would have to have sinage be upside-down on pump/magnet to have correctly oriented flow across top?

This can't be fixed by rotating flow guards.

Go into the pump settings and enable "Invert Rotation."

Yes, that's what I did, however again it should run correctly by default.

The Wave Engine will run various brands directly. Not all run the same direction. That is why there is a invert rotation selection. That way a single controller can run them all. It is just a matter of setting them up for a particular model and brand.

Sure, I understand that. But drop down does say IceCap 4k and that is what's plugging in =) other what's the point in all those pump profiles if not run them correctly by default.

This is to consider that not all pumps are built the same. Even with the same model pump, there are slight differences in the motor, so the feature is there to help you ensure that all the versions of the same pump run the same way. The feature is neither right nor wrong. All it does is help to make all your pumps run in the same direction.

You are correct. It should do what you say. Unfortunately our prototype IceCap 4k pumps were different from the production ones. So we got the initial setting wrong. We could easily fix it in the firmware, but then all the people who have these pumps would suddenly have their pumps suddenly change directions. So it is a bug but one we can't really fix.
