No. Icecap Gyres, Maxspect Gyres and Reef Octo Octo Pulse/VarioS (2 and 4 only) pumps via direct drive. And non-Mobius Vortech pumps. But you can always fall back to 0-10v if your pump supports it.

That is unfortunate. I would love to purchase one of your controllers, but I don't want to have to purchase all new equipment to be able to utilize all the cool functionality. Is there not a way to set it up for a generic DC pump?

The Wave Engine direct drive ports are 24v three phase and profiles are specifically tuned for each manufacturer to properly operate their pumps. I would guess it is possible to set other pump profiles but CoralVue would need the customer demand and buy in of the manufacturer so as not to void the pump warranty powering and controlling with a non-native controller. There is never any harm in asking in the form of a feature request. In the meantime, you've got the 0-10v control option as long as your pump supports it. You would just need a second XP8 or wifi output to power the pump. This is available on the WE (not Lite version) and X4. The X4 is a very versatile alternative for those that don't have Icecap Gyres, Maxspect Gyres, Reef Octo Octo Pulse/VarioS or non-Mobius Vortechs due to the availability of other Probe, Drive and Sense ports.

Warranty is not an issue. My equipment is out of warranty and I would like to be able to get rid of my power cables and have the added functionality of your controller.

I am not an employee of Coralvue. Just a power user of Hydros and a huge supporter of the product. I'm answering based on documented pump compatibility and significant product experience. At present there are four brands of flow pumps supported. I am unsure of the inner workings of various other DC pumps and don't know if it is possible to create a Generic DC pump profile. I am guessing it is not that simple because we see the discrete pump models listed in the Flow Pump dropdown selection. If otherwise, it probably would have already been done so CoralVue could tout universal support. Purely speculation on my part though.

The product looks great! I have watched most of the videos and really want to purchase, but not funded to replace all of my equipment. It just won't be as helpful if I don't have compatible components. One of the best features is eliminating controllers and power cords. Buying a $200 controller to turn around and by a $400 return pump and a $500 skimmer isn't in my budget.

The Wave Engine is primarily for flow pumps. While it can be used to run skimmer or return pumps, the only real benefit is elimination of a brick and a controller. Now that the Kraken has been announced you might want to look into it. It can replace the bricks on ANY 24V pump, but it does not replace the controller.

The Wave Engine can replace both the brick and the controller for any compatabile pump. The Kraken can replace the brick for any pump and for many other devices as well. The kraken can even replace the Wave Engines brick.
