I am thinking about adding Kraken to my future Hydros collective, but it looks like it probably would not be able to quite drive all that I would want.

There will be four Radion XR15 G6s (from chart that's 420W already), refugium AI Blade (20W), and Reef Octopus Elite 150-Int skimmer (25W). Of course not all will be running at their max, but I'd rather build system that can actually do full power if needed for whatever reason. Actually kind of wondering what would happen if I connect all 6 things and ask for full power...

Anyways, so due to this I would probably get two Kraken. Now how would that work with a battery attached to each, if I were to do that. Wonder if anyone tested that.

Also for wave engine to still drive pumps during low power, its power port would have to be connected to Kraken's Force port, correct? Same with X10, XD, etc. power ports. Assuming there is a nice cable available for this purpose :D

Yep - HYDROS Kraken Force Port Power Cable - HYDROS

My assumption is both would power the collective in a happy manner lol. And then powers that actually need power would be powered depending into which Kraken's force port things are plugged in?

The 24v force ports will only output 12v on battery power so the devices you are powering with them would have to work at 12v also. Some 24v device only work with the 24v. Are your Radions 24v devices? Also there is a limit per port that cannot be exceeded on the Kraken. Yes you can use multiple Krakens in a collective if you want. There are cables that connect the force port to the power input ports of the XD, X10 and Wave engines. I have all three and power them using the Kraken force ports. I don't provide power to them during a low power event since that s an emergency event and I only have wave pumps running. No lighting, heaters, skimmer or return pump would be running during a low power event. My flow pumps are MP10's though and are not directly connected to a Wave Engine port so no need to power them. I do power my MP10's off of the Kraken force ports though since they are 24v pumps but will run on 12v in low power mode.

I wouldn't run anything of those batteries but gyre(s) connected to the wave engine. So probably not much use in having two batteries hooked up as second one will just power the collective for the most part, but maybe that is useful as well, to at least keep getting some sort of sensor readings.

But idea would be to split G15s across two krakens for the heaviest load. And then maybe X10 per kraken and Wave Engine on one.

This really just need to run until someone can manually attend to the situation and turn on EcoFlow back up batteries and flip some switches on the transfer switch panel to power the circuits.

Two batteries would not hurt. I have things in 2 different places that are 35ft apart so it makes sense for me to have 2 battery backups for the collective with 2 different power sources. I also have a UPS on my router and cable modem so I will still have communication as long as the internet is still up at least for a while.

Yep, same. Have plenty of UPSs around on various routers, etc.

Here is potentially confusing diagram of things I plan to use on this new tank :)

Looks ok to me but I am not that familiar with lighting or the pumps. I power my fans from the dire ports. I also have DIY lighting and some of it runs from a force port and some from a drive port. I only have a 42 gallon hex tank so not a lot of lights. Below is the current draw on the two ports at near 1pm which is close to the max settings I have them set for.

Well currently I am testing internet outage situation not out of choice lol, and Hydros is misbehaving a bit. Mostly running as it should, but randomly sounds alarms or stops return pumps for few seconds. Which I imagine would be the case during power outage as internet might be down at same time as well.

But anyways, just power stuff works fine, things just run at half speed or so, which might be possible to avoid to some degree with settings or speeds to high % during low power mode if you are running below 50% normally, close to 100% in low power might be about the same, but haven't tried that, occurred to me just now as something possible for say return pump, where it might matter more to not cause bunch of noise as overflow is not tuned to the new lower flow.

I would think you would want the pumps to just run enough to keep things flowing but low so the battery will last. No power is an emergency situation and conserving battery power so it will last until power is restored is the key thing. My return pump will not run on low power. It is a Sicce and requires 24v so 12v will not run it. The MP10's do run but at 6% only. Otherwise everything else is off during a power outage.

Did you set up your Blade Refugium to your Kraken? Im doing the same. What settings do you use? Constant? And then program them via MyAI?

Each Kraken uses its own power supply that came with it.

Can probably share one in general, but I haven't actually tried. And I am not sure if single one can handle everything I have running at 100%.

They also do get warm, so I imagine closer you push it to 100% the hotter it will get, also not something I would want.

Yep, I agree, they do get warm. I'm running 3 AI Blades, 2 ReefRun 7000, 1 ReefRun 5500, RS DC Skimmer 300, WEv2, 2 ReefDose, Fan - yep, I'm pretty full! Since I might be adding a Maven (whenever that is) and maybe a couple of other things, just wondering if another Kraken will do the job. Oh the gearhead in me!

I also moved more things to run off of Kraken, which also pushes it a bit more. Two return pumps, one skimmer pump, 3 gyres, 2 octo phs, 4 xr15s, ai fuge balde (adding one more soon, gets too hot at 100%), and of course 4 other Hydros controllers with probably Maven when that comes out (hopefully comes out and does not suck :D ) as well.
