I raised a serious fire risk with the XP8 and had the thread locked, which is super odd behaviour in response to raising an fire risk, and was left with a statement that would be in breach of the right to repair act in most countries (including the USA). @Carlos, please reopen the thread to discuss further, shutting out discussion on a fault is shady business at best, especially after the misguided statement you made about voiding warranties. Suffice to say the current risk is extremely high, so doing nothing is a much higher risk then correcting the issue (especially when it is so easy to correct).

Obviously if you don't play with electronics then you should get someone else to do it that does, if you have to go to an electrician or electronics repair guy make sure you keep a copy of the bill for a refund. Either way, people need to address this issue immediately.

P.S. No excuse for the lack of conformal coating inside the XP8 either....

As I mentioned in the previous thread...

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take every comment seriously and will review your post carefully.

We want to state that opening the units and modifying them can introduce additional risks if the modification is not done correctly.

If someone has a question, we encourage them to contact us directly at CoralVue Support Portal.
