Low Power Mode did not work

I have an IceCap v3 backup hooked into my system and wondering why Low Power mode is not being activated when I fully lose power. I have it set to run my 2 pumps at 30% constant speed. I have a Mode as well as a Schedule. Here are some screen shots… what do I have wrong here? I was under the impression that a cut of power will automatically trigger it…

I just tried mine by unplugging the Wave Engine power supply and the XP8 and mine went into low power mode.

Is that an accurate representation since the have several controllers that are still plugged in though? My house lost power for about an hour, I couldn’t check on anything. Just said disconnected from cloud.
 
The only power sources for the controllers at the tank are the WEv2 power pack the Icecap 12v backup and the XP8. When I unplug the WEv2 power pack and the XP8 the power will drop to the 12v from the IceCap battery since it is the only thing providing power. The drop from 24 volts to12 volts is what triggers it to go into low power mode. Since they were still powered at 12v the controllers were all still working. Are you sure you have the IceCap V3 that is 12 volts instead of a V2 which is 24 volts.

Edit: if you notice on the first screenshot where it was still unplugged the buss voltage is 13 volts and in the second one I had already plugged the XP8 back in and it is back to 24 volts. The second shot was just showing the alert. It didn't pop up until I had already plugged the XP8 back in.

Yes it’s a V3. In fact, I had unplugged my collective to restart it one time and remember having to unplug the power on my WE because it was still getting power from the battery backup, so I know it “should” work.
 
Do the X4, XP8, and WE still remain powered with LED’s on, and still have access to the Hydros app? I had literally nothing on. No LED’s, no app, no access to the program through the web based app either.
 
Yes, mine continued to work on battery backup. The battery backup will power the controllers that are connected with a standard command buss cable. So all 4 of the controllers at the tank were still powered by the battery. It may be an issue with the battery backup if none of your controllers remained powered. I only use the IceCap for controller buss power since my MP10's have their own battery backup. I also have another battery backup for the controllers in my garage. So they will remain powered during no power. I also have a battery backup on my modem and router so the wifi should remain up also. Without the router and cable modem you would have no communication when the power is down so it would be the same as the controllers being powered down even if they are not as far as the cloud. I think Connor posted the link to the support ticket for you on facebook.

So this worked at one time but is no longer working? This may sound like a stupid question, but did you check the fuse? Ask me how I know to check, lol...

Sigh. It was the fuse… lol. Been exchanging emails with Carlos. But to answer you, I don’t know if it ever worked since I never tested it by fully unplugging it. I had unplugged the collective but left the battery backup plugged in, and since it was still powering the WaveEngine, I ASSumed it worked :)

I have done the exact same thing. And if you search the FB group, you'll discover it occurs quite frequently. Some people don't even realize there is a fuse until explicitly instructed to check it and then realize it is still in the box.
 
Always TEST your low-power setups. Do not set them up and hope they work correctly because 90% of the time, we forget something!

The fuse was in, just not seated correctly. One thing about that battery backup is I wish there was a way to know it is functioning properly, like an LED or some sort of indicator light that the fuse is set properly. The pass through power worked fine to the WaveEngine, just didn’t realize the battery side was not charging. I’ll tag @Carlos so I don’t have to retype this same reply again :)
