Even with only a Red Sea XL300, I have a pretty significant number of outputs and inputs.

This starts to get a bit hairy to manage, especially if I keep adding a few more.

Another collective is not really an option because some of these have dependencies on each other and there is no way to slice it without losing functionality.

That said, about half of these "outputs" aren't really what I would consider an output. They are essentially intermediary variables that I use to join different states into new states. If it was possible to represent these intermediate states in a different way in order to get the same AND/OR/CONDITION functionality, the number of real outputs would drop to a manageable number.

Alternatively, even just being able to directly reference inputs as dependencies would get rid of more than 10 of these outputs.

Why not separate them on different pages. You can select which inputs and outputs show on each page. Here are some screenshots of my hex tank, garage and living room pages. The living room only has a wifi power strip that lights my wifes light houses, globes and jelly fish lights. Those are just decorations but I put them on their own page. The garage has all the support things RODI, mixing station and ATO, AWC and dosing pumps.

Pages is an option I guess. I just hated editing them on my phone, it's irritatingly fiddly.

But seems easier on my computer, so I've gone with that for now.

Would still be nice to have some method of grouping things within a page, so I could hide/display all pumps, or lights, or intermediate outputs, etc.

But pages works for now, thanks.

I am hardly ever using the app on my phone. I use my iPad so it is not a pain on it since it has a larger display. I still have an All page that has everything on it. That is just so I don't hide something on all the other pages. I have a page for my 110 gallon tank but that tank is not setup at this time. I do have some outputs setup for it to experiment around with so I don't have to use the ones on the running tank.

Pages is the way to go. I have so many pages I can't capture them all in the same page screenshot! Creating the initial layout or making any significant changes from the mobile app is tedious to say the least. I do that on the computer and only minor tweaks from my phone. Editing pages is with very few exceptions about the only time I access from my computer though. The overwhelming majority of the time it is the mobile app.

It's pretty clear you are using a lot of virtual outputs based on your screenshot. The outputs associated with water level sensors and buttons stick out pretty quickly. Unsure what else may be virtual. Just based on your couple of posts I think we may be trying to do some of the same things with logic. I have quite a few virtual Generic and Combiners myself. Not so much of the buttons and sensors you have. I'd be interested in chatting to see understand how you're doing things. Might have some suggeations how to do them differently potentially more efficiently. Then again may see your logic and determine I'm not doing things correctly.
