I do not have exact example, but have occurred to me several times, where I would override an output to be ON and it would go ahead and do that for some period of time, maybe a minute or so, but then would override itself to OFF and stay there.

And yes, outlet would have number of various rules, etc. and this would be not the mode it would normally run in, etc. But should I not expect when I go and manually override the output to just be ON for it to stay there forever?

The only thing I know of that would kill a manual override is if the controller rebooted for some reason.

Nope just would be staring at normal screen with all inputs/outputs and it would go from On to Off... Id click it again to On it would do that and then go to Off override state. Happened few times with different outlets, just don't have exact setup right now. But just wanted to make sure that in general overrides shouldn't be doing this lol.

Feel like I had some weird ghost issues like that with min on off times as well, where it wouldn't behave as expected. Perhaps I have goblins in the system :)

Have you tried rebooting the controller or collective?

Yeah, this was over many months, many reboots, new settings, updates etc.
I don't think that override is meant to keep an output in for days or weeks at a time. It is more for doing it temporarily while you need to do something in the tank or until you can take care of an issue. I usually don't have anything in override for more than just a few hours but I have never had an issue. If you want to put a output in a on or off state for a longer period you can alway use a switch as a input and setup a output that uses the switch as an input and use depends on on the output you want to change the state. You would then use the dependency mode to determin whether it is forced to on or off and whether on or off will force it.

No it wasn't me trying to put anything on for days. Just few minutes, etc. But it would just decide to override itself to off instead after 10 seconds or something along those lines.

Only thing I can recall about it is that those outlets would be set to not be active in current mode. Likely because I didn't want to run the thing anymore, but didn't want to get rid of the outlet. But then I would override it to be on to run the pump or something, it would start up, but seconds later override itself to off, so full yellow icon instead of yellow outline for inactive. Annoying me and I would just usually just make that outlet active in normal mode.... Run it as long as i need... And removing check for normal mode to disable again. Which is dumb lol. Override to just On should hold and not decude to randomly override to off for whatever reason. Clearly some sort of rule is still kicked in and breaking things.

So just added XP8 outlet that's disabled in all modes. Override it to On. It stays on for 10-15 secs and overrides to Off. Also for some reason it seem to turn on led power, also xp8 outlet, and it seems like led dimmer eventually blinks on and off 0-10v output and that's what overrides this outlet to off. There is no relationship between them aside from both being on xp8

That is because the active in modes has a higher priority than the override. If you selected a mode that the output is active in does it go back to override on. The main reason that mode have the highest priority is you might want that off if it goes into low power mode no matter what the output was set to do so mode active in has the highest priority but only with inactive. If it is set to be active it will do whatever it is setup to do. There is no way to force it to on with a mode only off.
