What wrong with PH Bing at 8.4 to 8.5. My ph is at 8.4 day and night sometimes goes to 8.5. Corals are more happy at higher ph

I've had my pH that high without issue. The issue is if your pH is that high and the tank is low on nutrients. You'll see increased growth rates for sure, but the flesh of the skeleton of the coral will be outpaced .

I think it more of a concern with the sudden rise in pH after dosing and not the exact number that had the OP worried that something could be wrong. I never hurts to get other opinions in these cases.

So i just ordered a salifert PH test kit. Its still going from 8.0 in the morning to 8.6 by evening. I am not dosing anything at all. I test my Alk daily with salifert and its been at 8.3 and hasnt moved mainly nothing in the tank to use it since I have only 3 tiny frags.
I want to see if its actually accurate. I calibrated the probe again yesterday and it seems correct reading the PH solutions but i jiust find it odd the tank can get to 8.6 without any buffering being added. So i will find out when the salifert PH comes tomorrow.

Also I dont think I have an aeration issue.
I have a 21g tank that is 20x20x12
I have 2 AI Nero 3, and in the small AIO section i made in the tank has a Sicce 1.0 return and a small wood airstone skimmer.
So there is lots of water movement and alot of surface agitation going on as well.

Are you turning on lights during the day? If so that might be offsetting any CO2 that is in the water from no lights at night.

my lights are on their schedule.
I know lights will raise PH from photosynthesis during the day. If it was swinging from 7.9-8.2 I wouldnt think anything but getting to 8.6 without buffering is odd to me.
The only other thing can think of is I am going through the ugly stage in the tank and this started around then.
So the excess algae and bacteria could be driving it up more during the day.
I had to start my UV ysterday for some bacterial bloom that started lastnight

I got my Salifert PH test kit today.
My probe was reading 8.4 and the salifert looked like is was in between 8.3 and 8.6 so I guess the probe is correct.
I am just going to chalk it up to the ugly stage with algae blooms in the water and the fast growth of the algae on the rocks causing the PH to climb so high

so my quest to figure this out. I think i finally did.
I had the 4oz bottles of PH 4/7/10 and I have had them for a while and I was using them to calibrate.
Well I decided to buy brand new ones. After I got them today i calibrated the probe again and my PH of 8.55 went down to 8.23.
So it seems those bigger bottles over close to a year ended up not being so accurate.

I use the Pinpoint packets that are for onetime use. I do go back to them if needed but once the calibration is complete and I am satisfied they are disposed of.
