QT system Suggestion

Good morning. I'm looking to set up a small 40 gal tank to QT fish and corals (no medications on fish just observation).

Would the XS starter kit be good enough for that purpose? Or the X3 when it becomes available?

It depends on what you want the controller to monitor and do. the X3 has a probe port and 2 sense ports. The XS has 4 sense ports and no probe ports. If you want pH then it is a X3 or X4. If pH is not that important to you I would go with the XS and get the 4 sense ports. One of those ports will be for temp. One for a water level sensor. That would leave you two more for other things with the XS. With the X3 you would have all the ports used for temp, pH and water level. But you can alway add another control unit if you need more ports later.

You could also consider the X2. That would give you drive ports that could directly run an ATO pump.

Thank you everyone for the reply. I think I will go with the X2. It is simple and prob has everything I really need for a QT system
