Reagent Error

So last week I started getting an error "Unable to achieve terminal pH, check reagent.(error 1)"

I assumed it was because of a broken head that I replaced, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I replaced the reagent and still get the error so I don't think the reagent is the problem. The original Litre was from the last of a 4L mix I had used from the Coralvue store that I mix, first 3 were good last one is this error. I also had a liter bottle of the mixed version and I still get this error.

So first question is how long can these liquids be stored after mixing the concentrated version? How long for the premixed one? Both are from the Coralvue sore.

Then what else can I check, I did recalibrate the pump. Have new reagent on the way in case 3 months is too long to store this stuff, I wouldnt think so. Finally is there a specific wasy that I should store the reagent (not light, refrigrate etc)

Usually that error happens when the pH does not drop as much as expected. Either there is air in the reagent tubing or it could also be an issue with the stirrer not spinning. I would check that first. Also the pH probe could be the issue.

Watch it run a test. It should start spinning after the first drain and fill.

Set it up as a generic on and off output as an alternative.

Mine was stuck straight from the factory and had to disassemble the bottom of the IV and push it down a bit into the base.

Also, if its been set up for some time may be time to re-do all your calibrations on dosers and probes.

im having same issues. i checked the lines, no air bubbles. i recalibrated lines and ph probe numerous times. connor at help told me it could be bad reagent. so i ordered new reagent and tried it last night same problem still..... i wont know until my salifert kit arrives tomorrow for sure if its bad reagent, but what are the chances there are two bottles of bad reagent. my ph probe looks to be working, its matching my pinpoint ph probes readings pretty closely.

my pill does spin, but it spins REAL slow, the problem is i dont know what a normal test should look like. i dont know how fast its supposed to spin, or when or for how long. does a normal test video exist somewhere so i can know if my pill spinning is the problem or not?

i found the problem. i guess during shipping the motor came loose. i pushed it down now the pill spins ALOT and very fast. works well now! now i just gotta figure out how to make it so my sole doses alk if it ever falls below a number. some sort of dynamic dosing or something probably.

You can do that using a schedule if you are just dosing a KH buffer like I do. Here is one of my 4 KH buffer dosing schedules. The amounts depend on time of day. The morning one and afternoon one dose the most. The evening and early morning ones don't dose near as much. Each dose is schedule after a test which is done 4 times a day. It may take some time to get the values dialed in for your tank. I would start low and bump them up a little at a time as needed.
