Reduce the number of flashing LEDs when in an error condition. And make all conditions subject to time limits.

Last night, my ISP did some work, after midnight, for a few minutes. During that time all of my HYDROS devices were flashing yellow. I have 7 alone in my fish room. It looked like we were about to experience a meltdown. This morning the fish were acting unusually skittish. Earlier this year, storms disrupted my internet connectivity for multiple days and this light show continued the whole time. For some reason, this particular condition does not follow the led-on and off-time settings. I received texts and emails that really make this redundant anyway. None of my other wifi devices behave this way. I consider this to be a serious defect in the product. I can say that it is definitely affection the livestock.

I suggest that at a minimum, the number of LEDs used reduced to one, and the led-on and led-off times apply to all alarm conditions.

I would love to hear input on this from anyone else.

I kind of thought that a WiFi or internet failure was something that people would want to know about day or night. But then again my units are inside of a cabinet.

This is an easy change if there is general agreement on it.

Let me know your thoughts.

IMHO I think having the option to turn off the lights or even the option to turn off for certain conditions would be nice .

Don,
If we could just have a way to "silence" the lights. I could not even stand to be in my fish room when we had the storm and were out for 2 days. There is literally no way to turn them off. In today's world, we usually know when we lose the internet. The other night my tv stopped streaming when my ISP decided to do some work. So I decided to go check my fish room and got what I was expecting. The great modular design exasperates the issue even more. Multiply the number of modules x 8 and that's how many LEDs are flashing brightly. I have 56 flashing LEDs in my fish room and 16 in my office. I really don't want any flashing warnings at night. The LED on and off times are a great feature except this condition appears not to follow it. I am sorry if I seem over sensitive about this issue. But suffering 2 days of 72 total LEDs flashing at me made me that way. I am sure it affected my livestock as well.

There really needs to be a way to silence the alarms and flashing lights while you deal with whatever caused the alarms.

I so agree with this! Sometimes by the time I get the situation fixed, I am ready to blow up my entire reef!!! The alarms are great to alert, but so annoying after you realize there is a problem and you are fixing it

I don't have any alarms set at that level but you can go and change the alarm level on the offending input till you get it fixed to silence it. Mine are all set to orange or lower.

I like the idea of knowing the state of my home wifi. Getting alerts when I am away from home can be a great heads up to check on things as soon as possible. I do like the suggestion of being to acknowledge the alerts and stop the flashing leds or have the option of somehow customizing how the leds behave in different alert conditions.
