I’ve been thinking about this for a while and discussing it with others: the topic of access. It’s something I find really important, but I wasn’t sure how to bring it up.
For instance, issues like notifications for low reservoir levels and the release of the emergency mode are things I value deeply and honestly appreciate they were fixed/released. I’m genuinely happy that our concerns are being addressed. Like many others, I’ve invested a lot into this system and want to see it thrive and become the best it can be—I truly believe that’s possible.
That said, I encountered an issue the other day that got me thinking. I had to get my car inspected here in Texas (as it’s required), and they provided me with a detailed list of everything they checked and adjusted. It made me realize that I don’t get the same level of transparency with my system.
Recently, I got a new x10 for my iV setup. While trying to configure it, I initially relied on an outdated YouTube tutorial before realizing I should just use the written instructions from the website. When I couldn’t figure it out, I reached out for help. Someone at Hydros logged into my system to investigate, assured me everything was fine (it wasn’t), and later I had to create a schedule to resolve the issue.
This made me wonder: Why don’t I get notifications when someone accesses my system? Why isn’t there a log of what they reviewed or changed? I think it would be really helpful if we had some sort of pop-up notification or alert when someone logs into our system. It’s my tank, and if something goes wrong, I’ll either have to fix it myself or get someone else to repair it. At the very least, I’d like to know what changed or who accessed the system.
I know I can revert to old “saves,” but that’s not the same as having a record of who accessed my system and what they did. Does this make sense?
