I’ve had my X10 running since Monday. Today I added a Wave Engine v2. I hooked them up in a collective and my gyres would not work. I googled it and found out that the wave engine can not power the gyres through the bus cable so I moved the power supply from the X10 to the wave engine because I thought I read somewhere on this forum that you can not have two power supplies plugged in at the same time or else you’ll fry them. My gyres are working now but the pumps on the x10 are not. I’m assuming I need to power each module with its own power supply but I wanted to make sure it won’t fry them before I hook up the second one

Both need their power supply. Neither can be completely powered from the bus. The only supply that cannot be used with the others is the one that connects directly to the command bus and comes in the starter kits.

You need to use the Power supply for the X10 on the X10 and the power supply for the Wave Engine on the Wave Engine. You will also need to install 2 terminators. One Terminator on each open command bus port and then have the command bus cable going to each controller. Power givers such as Wave Engine, X10,XP8, XD, and Kraken all are isolated devices and need to have their own power supplies used on them regardless of what else is connected. The other controllers not on that list can receive power from those devices listed and do not need their own power supply if used in conjunction with them :)

Thank you for your responses. I figured it out by reading the manual after I posted my question. I should’ve read the manual first lol. Now I keep getting a notification saying IV: Value Unknown, (sensor disconnected ?). I’ve checked everything and can’t figure it out. I don’t even know which one to look at though because the only inputs I have connected to it is a temp probe, a ph probe, and a salinity probe and all three are working properly and I’m getting an alkalinity reading like I’m supposed to

Have you ran a alkalinity test yet? I do get that alert occasionally especially if my wifi master in the collective is rebooted but it is not all the time. Usually if a input has an issue the tile for it will be red. There are also 2 hidden input tiles for the realtime salinity and pH inputs.

I think I figured it out thanks to your help. I went into my input list and I have the Alk test, ph, sample ph, salinity, sample salinity and for some reason I had an IV salinity that said it was connected to the IV salinity port. Since the IV doesn’t have a salinity port I deleted that input and I haven’t gotten the notification since. I haven’t ran an all test since to make sure everything still runs properly but I’m fairly confident that it fixed my problem
