Using different versions of Android OS with the Hydros app?

I am looking at getting a used Android device for my Hydros controller. It is a decently large touchscreen for kiosks. It runs on the older Android 4.4.4. Will the Hydros app run on this version of android OS

I have an old Android phone but it is Android 5.1 and it still works for now.

If you read the specs on the Google Play Store, it tells you what the minimum version of Android OS it will run. Here is the link for your convenience:
