Pulling this off onto its own thread since its an easier way to interface eTape sensors with Hydros.

I have a full tutorial here: Hydros LLS Sensor Tutorial

But in short, you CAN use Neptunes LLS sensors with Hydro's 0-10V input channels/port. They are super handy for monitoring levels or creating alerts at certain levels. You MIGHT be able to use them for ATO but note the slow reaction time in some cases.

To attach a LLS to Hydros you need to connect a female TRRS Phono Jack pigtail to the 0-10V input port. there are 2 methods, 1) use a breakout box or 2) solder directly to a GX12-6 connector.
You can get pigtails from here: TRRS Jack Pigtail Cable
You can get a Breakout Box here: JBA Breakout Box
You can get GX12-6 connectors from amazon, tons of sources.

Then connect the pigtail as follows to the Breakout Box (Or the GX12-6 pin if using connectors)
  • Ring 2 - GREEN Pigtail Wire to any black Ground port (GX12-6 PIN 6)
  • Sleeve - BLACK Pigtail Wire to either 5VDC ports (GX12-6 PIN 3)
  • Ring 1 - WHITE Pigtail Wire to any 1 of 4 input ports (GX12-6 PIN either CH 1 - Pin 1, CH2 - Pin 2, CH 3 - Pin 4, or CH 4 - Pin 5)
  • Tip - RED Pigtail Wire is UNUSED and can be cut
  • *colors are based on the product in the link above, these may change if you buy another product
Plug your LLS sensor into the pigtail jack above and then next configure the Hydros input for use. See step 4 on this slide deck Hydros LLS Sensor Tutorial
Note that using sensor for "actual" depth in inches isnt 100% accurate, its always precise (repeatable) but due to the slight non-linear nature of the device but if you want to still show depth in inches, read the full tutorial for how to do that.

If you want to setup alarms based on water depth, also check out the tutorial above as well.

Can you use the sensor adapter cable in the sense port, or do i have to use a 0-10V in?

Can anyone help me with the LLS. I got the breakout box, and the pigtail cable suggested. But my values don't move in numerical order. They go 4.17, 4.095, 4.045, 4.015, 3.7, 3.945, 2.985, 3.055, 3.145 back up to 3.945. It's a 15in lls.

Are you giving the sensor 4-5 mins to settle when measuring? It is very slow to change when going from high to lower levels

I had one that would not work for anything. That was the 1st neptune item I bought ever. It probably was a fluke but now I'm waiting for only hydros things.

Yeah I would love having a level sensor for my saltwater storage tanks for AWC that showed how many gallons were left, but Neptune accessories are total junk.
