Finally succumbing to empty tank syndrome and setting an old 55 back up after collecting dust for too many years. Among the new equipment I've been sending Premium Aquatics bunches of money for is the X4 starter pack. While reading the instructions I notice the LEDs breath colors!!! That's the first I've ever heard of any kind of light breathing  Inquiring minds want to know, if the LEDs are set up to run all night, will they also snore?

In all seriousness, I'm really liking this controller. Still need to neaten up the wiring runs, but it's all hooked up with pH, ORP and temp probes, hydros ATO set up, heater and the 0-10v control the Octopus Varios 2 return pump. Still need to hook up the ozone. Got it all up and running with no issues. It's also pretty neat that I can be sitting out on the boat and checking on my tank status, conversely I can be sitting home in front of my tanks and checking my boats status on it's monitoring device. Got to love modern electronics when they are well made

Cheers,
Bill

Check out the online manual under troubleshooting for breathing yellow and breathing read. Normal is breathing blue unless it is within the nighttime settings where the LED's are off unless there is an issue. Breathing is just a way of describing the slow pulsing of the LED's they also will enter flashing and chase modes under the right circumstances. I have not heard them snore yet but the beeping can be loud when you have 8 of them beeping.

Hi Danny, yeah I read all that. Just found it amusing that they call slow blinking breathing. Speaking of amusing, last time I saw @Carlos in person, he had more hair than I did. Watching a couple of the hydros videos, I see he is now balder than I am!

I met him at MACNA in Florida and I don't remember him having hair then. I came from the Digital Aquatics controllers to Hydros and I am impressed With them. So far these have done everything the Archon did and more. I did have a salinity probe on the Archon but you could not trust it for doing any kind of control. So I can see why they did not want to go down that route using a conductivity probe for salinity.

Carlos and I go back quite some time, we were both mods at Reef Central for a bit. Life getting all too busy, I've been off any of the forums for some time now, so haven't spoken with him in far too long.

The Salinity probe is tricky. Especially when you throw in all the electrical interfence from other probes and various pumps.

I used to post on Reef Central all the time. Now it is Reef2Reef. I was out of the hobby for a while also. I got interested in using LED lights on a tank around 2008. That got me back in. Things were a lot different from the early 90's when I got out. It is amazing the difference a few years makes.

There is a name that is a Blast from the past.

Carlos, good too see Coral Vue still seems to be treating you well.

David, speaking of a blast from the past, good to see your still around the reefing community.

Danny, your not kidding about some of the changes in equipment over the past few years. Just set up a pair of Hydra 32's, much better than the 10 year old evergrow over my 29, and that I've been quite happy with.
