Salinity measure with Hydros Controller

I had a salinity probe on my old controller. It was a conductivity probe type and it could not be trusted to use it to control anything. Every time the reading started to drop it was not the tank in error but the reading that was in error. My understanding is they want to use another method to check the salinity since the conductivity probes have so many issues. I have not missed the salinity probe at all. I test the salinity with my Pinpoint meter once a week and also refractometer if needed.

While I was away, my fish keeper accidentally put RODI water into my aquarium instead of salted water after a water change. I came back home to find my salinity at 28 ppt instead of 34ppt where I normally keep it. Having this feature would have been helpful to catch it early.

Carlos, if you guys are working on a Conductivity or Salinity measurement, will it plug into the sensor port or maybe a new Control XP module for advanced probes (non-BNC) maybe a GX12 6-pin? I'm building out a new system to convert from my current APEX solution to HYDROS.

I have been using a Pinpoint hand held meter for now. I had a conductivity probe with my Archon and it was not reliable enough to use to control anything. I have not really missed it. I check the tank once a week when doing my other weekly test. I would be nice to have current salinity readings but not a must have. I do auto water changes so I have a low level and high level sensor in the sump to catch an issue with auto water change. I have found that the ATO is more likely to catch it before the level sensors by alerting for maximum off time exceeded or maximum on time exceeded. Welcome to the group.
