Hey All,
I’m trying to connect an optical sensor to gx12 4pin which will go in the sense port. The optical sensor only has 3 wires, but the sense port requires 4pin. Do I just leave one pin open with no connecting wire? These sensors are from an old AutoAqua AWC (v1) system (the control unit died and so I’m scavenging parts from it). I already bought and attached 2 micro pumps to gx12 2pin which went to the drive port, and that went without a problem. Now it’s sensor time. Any and all will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

The sense port has a digital pin and a analog pin. The analog pin is the one you use for float switches so my guess that is the one you would use. To use digital you device would have to have some kind of processor like the temp sensor does, Also for that the Hydros would have to be setup to interface with it. This link has the pinout for the ports Full DIY Hydros Pinout Cheat Sheet .

Typically you can not directly adapt optical sensors to the sense port on hydros. Typically off the shelf optical sensors require an external resistor bias network to work correctly.
