Ok, I will set a output with a delay.
I just ran some tests. I switched modes numerous times and could not induce the failure again. What I couldn’t do is leave it in Water Change mode 1.5 hrs before going back to Normal mode as I had when it failed earlier this evening. I’ll wait until the weekend to run that one.

Could it have possibly timed out on the timer? Did your Control unit breath green or yellow when this happend?

No I don’t believe so. I just checked my timeout for Water Change and I have it set for 3hrs. Much longer than my typical time of 1 to 1.5 hrs. Good idea though. These intermittent problems are frustrating to pin down. Thanks again. Can’t say I noticed any color change on the C4. I’ll have to pay closer attention to that when something is acting up.

I think I found a date/time bug in the system. Perhaps triggered by the change to DST? Anyways, I reported this to CV with the notification evidence I analysed. Maybe it’s not the root cause of what’s been happening but I strongly suspect it has something to due with how the system responds to certain triggers. Hopefully this might save some reefers from a potential crash. If I’m right, you all owe me a beer!

Nevermind. Hold those beers. It’s the UTC to EDT conversion. Wish the notifications were converted to local time.

Yea, I noticed that also. Those notifications are sent out from a server on their end.

@Eloc

Did you submit a ticket on our support portal at CoralVue Support Portal If you have not, please do so, and we will be able to help you better. This is a public forum, so there is helpful information needed but I cannot ask here.

@Voodoo99 - I reinstalled 165 on my C4 and I have not had a problem with the wifi connection for the controller, the quad power bars, or the mode changing. Since you and I are having similar issues, I suggest you try going back 165 and let us know if that makes any difference.

Thanks Mike. I raised a ticket today with CoralVue support and am trying some things to see if that helps to identify what is going on here. Good to know that 165 has given you some relief. It has been frustrating as the C4 and some accessories cost me over $1000 Canadian including taxes. For that kind if money you want it to be reliable. Now I get the “uh huh....” from the wife for buying it. Lol. We’ll get past that.

Also and I am sorry but some of the replys here from CV are exactly what I have received copy and paste ?
I started with the control 2 to see how it is and my plan was to get a 4 and move from there. Totally rethinking my plans.
Yesterday lost connection again and had to wait till I got home to unplug it plug back in. After that my phone was blowing up with alerts lol.
I did lose internet and my inkbird notified me but 5 minutes later came back and the controller wouldn't reestablish it was running but only as a plug strip no connection. Heaters were not controlled the inkbird is on my 30g and the control 2 is on my 120g
Ordered another one yesterday( inkbird) for my 120. My 120 with the control 2 was down to 76.9 by the time I got home and my return water level was way low ... ato was not working also. Ato is not thru the control but plugged into the wifi strips.
So idk what's up but they need to do more then copy and paste replys imo

Might want to revert back to 165 for the time being. Sounds like the CV team is hot on the trail of this issue and gathering as much info as possible.

I have had nothing but issues also. Submitted a ticket. How do you put it back to 165 ?
Go to Device Properties then Update Firmware. I clicked on ”Select Experimental Version” and entered 165. Then I installed it.

I have had zero issues since I went back to 165. I hope you have similar luck.

FYI to those having this issue:
