I thought of that but don't want to be without that part of the collective while/if they fix it. And since it's out of warranty, I'll probably have to pay and a new one is not that expensive. And I no longer have confidence in this unit and hope for better luck with a new one.

After buying a new return pump and exhaustive testing, I determined that the return pump/skimmer on/off problem is the result of two bad electric plugins on my XP8. The devices and the other 6 outlets work perfectly. The XP8 is 2 years old (actually it's my third; I got 2 defective ones...

No, skimmer not dependent on return pump. And high sump not triggered because it's off only for a couple of seconds or less. Will try controller reboot.

My return pump (OctoVarios8) has started behaving strangely: turning itself on and off sometimes by the second. It does this only on AUTO. Override ON or OFF behaves normally. Any ideas?

Thanks, but I've done that long ago. I've had a schedule for the back pumps and another one for the front pumps. Both work well. What I'm looking for is the Four Square Pattern in a new schedule, which as I understand it, can control four pumps one in each corner. But I don't understand...
