If there are 2 outlets that are defective why not get them repaired at CoralVue? It will be cheaper than buying a new one. Have you submitted a support ticket ? Did you reach out to support for further investigation? After buying a new return pump and exhaustive testing, I determined that the return pump/skimmer on/off problem is the result of two bad electric plugins on my XP8. The devices and the other 6 outlets work perfectly. The XP8 is 2 years old (actually it's my third; I got 2 defective ones previously) so out of warranty. I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to diagnose/fix XP8 outlets? Or am I doomed to buy yet another XP8?
I thought of that but don't want to be without that part of the collective while/if they fix it. And since it's out of warranty, I'll probably have to pay and a new one is not that expensive. And I no longer have confidence in this unit and hope for better luck with a new one.If there are 2 outlets that are defective why not get them repaired at CoralVue? Thanks. I do have a button box. I'll disconnect it and check again. Not doubting you hare a legitimate issue. But if it only occurs in AUTO then you definitely don't have two bad bad electrical outlets. If the outlets themselves were bad then you wouldn't be seeing the OFF/ON log messages directly correlating to your observed outages. The control is instructing the output to turn off and on. Any chance you have a button box or breakout box with buttons/switches to activate modes? If so, what type of Control is that button box/breakout box attached to? When did this problem start and what firmware are you running? Would be interested to see the Active In Modes expanded config in your Return Pump screenshot. Yes to button box? Unplug it and see if the problem goes away? I bet good money it's more likely button box, logic or firmware issue. And if you are going to discard the XP8, I'd gladly pay to have you ship it to me because I don't think it is bad.
I do (did) have a button box attached to WaveEngine 0-10v. The return pump was plugged into the XP8, and depended on the button box (pump off when toggle switch was ON) I took off the Depend, still had the problem. But when I completely unplugged the button box and removed all the depends on it, my problem vanished! THANK YOU! But I don't understand how a button box plugged into 0-10v on a WaveEngine could screw up an outlet on a separate device, an XP8. I'm now done with button boxes. Unless somebody can vouch for a particular one???Thanks. I do have a button box. I'll disconnect it and check again.
