Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

This is curious. My problems on Sat began with loss of connectivity to the wifi strip. Today it was the wifi plug. Since it seems that most on here never see these problems I am starting to suspect I’ve been dealt a lemon C4. Maybe a few others who have voiced their problems on here as well...

Using the app Danny. Not smart enough to delve into the 0-10v stuff! Lol.

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

Just experienced what you did (in a way). I have a Hydros wifi plug that is configured for use in both Normal and Water Change modes. When I completed my weekly maintenance just now I switched back to Normal mode and what happened? The wifi plug is Not Responding. This did not happen in the...

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

Yes. I guess I was waiting to see if anyone from Coralvue thought this was concerning and would chime in. I do have the temp graph, emails etc to back up my experience if they want to deep dive. Thanks Jeff! From what I have seen you are one of the good ones here.

    Unable to update firmware

Coralvue recommends to try this workaround (It should apply for 178 as well since the problem is caused by 165 and not the newer version): IMPORTANT: If you have issues installing firmware 177 where you install the firmware but the unit reverts back to 165, then do the following: Tap on the...

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

In retrospect, my statement was rather self-serving. It’s not up to CV or anyone else to solve my problems. I just ordered the new Helio system. Sure it’s expensive but if it will prevent another 17hrs of troubleshooting on a Saturday and the risk of hosting an unintentional fish fry in the...

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

They need to get a wired power strip released asap. In theory, wireless is a great idea but it is a failure waiting to happen.

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

178 seems to have been a relief for those running a collective. For me, I was extremely happy with my C4 since installing it 6 weeks ago. Could be that 178 is not to blame and there was always something there waiting to happen under the right conditions.

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

I've been giving this some thought. I have cams, Wemo's, Alexas, Fire TV sticks, Apple TV, Nest Thermostat, garage door controllers, Ring doorbell, and so much more in addition to my wifi connected Ecotech and auto feeder which are located right near my C4. None of these devices had issues on...

Thanks for confirming. Gotta be my ISP dropping the ball. Good news is it didn’t happen again since last night.

Control 4 losing connection to WiFi after installing 178

Anyone else losing connection with the cloud today? At least a half dozen times my C4 has been breathing yellow and that means cloud connection has been lost. Half the time it reconnects, the other half I need to power cycle the unit. Also got a couple alerts that connection to the power strip...

    Temperature Chart Display Issue

You’re welcome. I’m sure you’ve already tried restarting the controller. Not sure what else to suggest other than maybe deleting the temp input, clear cache in the upper right menu, restarting the controller and then re-adding the sensor?

Also make sure you are running the latest firmware version, Click the 3 dots at the upper right of the app screen. The latest version is 165. It addresses some graphing issues.

I think I can answer issue #2. See the blue dot at the end of the blue line? That is a moment in time. If you touch/click along the blue line you will see the time change. Now try clicking on the blue line as far to the right as possible. You should see a more up to date timestamp. Edit...

Also, along the lines of this topic... an Event Log would be useful for troubleshooting. Maybe on the screen where you can look at Archived Versions? Being able to review timestamps for major events could help pinpoint issues with configuration or intermittent/faulty equipment.
