Completely understand, and I agree. When i get a maven, I will still use a X10/iV for my alk testing since its way cheaper to run for more tests. But I will use Maven to spot check my alk every week or so, just as a backup. And calc/mag will be only checked every 1-3 weeks.
As for a...
So looking at the actually Red Sea ReefRun DC 7000, it has a max power rating of 65W. So at 65W/24V, that's about 3A per pump. Now you will want to use the DC/DC booster I have over in this thread: https://forum.coralvuehydros.com/threads/diy-guide-24v-jebao-pumps-on-kraken-battery.2112/ since...
So I only use my 36V booster currently on a backup pump in case i lose power. I do check the pump daily for 15 mins to make sure it still works. And to this point I havent had any issues. But I am not running it all the time anymore. But in the start I did run it 24/7 to test it out, and had no...
Most likely in the short term, your best option is to just not run those reagents/tests on the current maven. The way the programming is set up, doesn't force you to run any tests if you dont want to. So you could technically just run the 4 reagents for PO4/NO3, and leave the rest disconnected...
Those can be hard to find. I would say reach out to support@coralvue.com and see if they might be able to get you some or sell you some.
Another option is to order these and use the nuts off them. But 1) they will take weeks to get and 2) they sometimes screw up orders. GX12 Connector Front...
Just wanted to help fill in some information about some more of the technical side of Hydros and why or what design decisions were made to this point.
Just to give you some background information on what the hydros command bus is and how it works. The Command Bus is actually a low speed but...
Definitely the physical float switches are your best bet... that being said I've had snails give me issues. That being said, I have started to make and sell these covers that Ive been using myself Hydros Float Switch Guard Assembly | JB Aquatics LLC
Another option for optical sensors is the...
Hydros probe ports are not just "simple pH ports". They are specifically designed circuits for Hydros that include additional circuitry to provide air gap isolation from other electrical interference. This is done both on the data and power planes. This has a factor in the cost of a probe port.
The XP8 itself can only power devices up to 8A each, or a total of 14A for the total XP8... so what do you do when you have a device that uses more power? or want to offload a larger device to a different circuit? The following tutorial and device can help you in those situations.

Doubling up and using 2 force ports for more current wouldnt give you much, since you would then hit the MAX limit on the battery port of 10A pretty quick. There is a 10A fuse on the battery cable. And do not replace that fuse with a larger once since the internal circuitry is limited at 10A.
just know that coralvue reserves the right to change protocol without notice between firmware revisions if needed. so what works now may not work in the future, but DIY stuff is encouraged. Just dont get mad if an update breaks your stuff
It is possible under a Flow Pump Schedule to use a 0-10V INPUT to control the pump schedules speed. If you set the flow profile to Constant and then go to the bottom and enable advanced settings, you will see a CONTROL INPUT setting. Here select the 0-10V input you are using from your external...
